The flour here is different from France, and it took me 6 years to find a way to do my favourite cake, the quarter pound ( the French way is a bit different)
I asked around and thanks to my friend Tami I was able to solve the problem! She sent me an article about the exact differences, I found some wheat gluten and added it to my flour (1 spoon for 5 spoons of flour). Et voila!
It's been six years I was craving for my Maman's quatre quart. I can do it now, I'm so happy. I couldn't imagine raising my son without French cakes. My Friends shared it with me and were like " Delphine! Take a picture! Take a picture!" Et voila:
Il m'a fallu 6 ans les gars. Six ans sans le gateau du mercredi. Six ans sans le gouter de ma Maman! Grace a ma copine Tami j'ai reussi a savoir quelle proportion exacte de gluten je devais ajouter a la farine ici pour faire un gateau pas plat.
C'est bon. J'ai fait mon gateau. Avec de la compote de fraises (c'est la fin de saison ici), c'etait super :)
